Ulla works with grants awarded through open competition and is responsible for, among other things, the postdoc and fellowship programmes. She also contributes to strategic initiatives within neuroscience.

Ulla has a research background in neuroscience, with experience from University of Oslo, Karolinska Institutet and the University of Copenhagen. As a postdoc at the Clinic for Spinal Cord Injuries at Rigshospitalet, she conducted research into rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, while her doctoral degree focused on the neuronal circuits controlling locomotion.

Ulla joined the Lundbeck Foundation in August 2026 from a position at the Novo Nordisk Foundation. She has previously worked with research support and grant administration at Statens Serum Institut and DTU Chemistry, as well as with project management in the medical device industry.

Ulla holds an MSc in biology from the University of Copenhagen and a Dr.philos. in neuroscience from the University of Oslo.
